DIY Bride Workshop: for the creative bride to be
This class is for the bride and whomever else is on her floral team and aims to teach you whatever you need to know for doing your own bridal flowers from button holes and bouquets through to larger urn arrangements.
The day can be entirely tailored to what you would like to learn, you might already be a dab hand at table flowers and bouquets and just want to learn about doing a larger floral design such as a chandelier or an arch or it might be that you want to just do the table flowers or church flowers – we can fill in the gaps in your knowledge and pass on our top tips, gained from over 12 years of floral wedding design work.
We will talk through what you want to learn before you come to us at Babylon so we can organise the day and have the flowers ready for you to learn the skills you need for arranging flowers confidently.
All our flower designs are created using sustainable methods so we will arm you with the knowledge of how best to do this. We do not use any floral foam in any of our designs and only seasonal flowers.
Basic cost for the day is £750.00 for as many as 4 people (more if you are wanting to learn how to do an arch or larger scale arrangement). Please e-mail to discuss dates and what you would like to achieve in a days course – we can do an additional day if needs be. The day will run from 10am – 4.30pm
THE DAY AT A GLANCE
We will start the day with tea & coffee and a further chat about what you would like to achieve in the days workshop, followed by a walk around our flowers beds and meadows to show you how best to use the foliage and flowers that might be in your garden to supplement the flowers you need to buy in.
Then back to the studio where we can talk about colour palettes, which flowers will be in season for your wedding date and how best to use these in your designs.
Followed by some hands-on flower arranging.
Short Break for home made light lunch in the garden (weather permitting).
More flower arranging.
During the day we will also talk you through our recipe sheets for the designs you are creating and show you how to calculate the amount of flowers you will need for your design. You will also learn the best way to condition flowers and foliage you have picked yourself.
How we can help you on your wedding day should you need:
We can supply you with buckets of seasonal blooms on the day which will be fully conditioned and ready to use.
We can also rent you any vases, urns & candlesticks you might need to use if you don’t have your own. We can look at these together and work out what works best for the look you are hoping to achieve.
If you don’t feel confident on doing all the flowers, we can fill in the gaps for you on the day with wedding bouquets or larger urns from one of our wedding packages. We offer anything from the supply of DIY flower buckets through to bouquets, buttonholes and larger floral displays.

Floristry tips and tricks from conditioning to prolonging vase life to artfully arranging flowers and foliage in any vase or container.
Advice on table scaping including candles, glassware & table linen.
A cohesive plan and recipe sheets for ordering the correct amount of flowers for your designs and what they will cost.
All floristry tools needed for the day.
All the flowers will be supplied for your workshop and you can take away the designs to enjoy at home afterwards bar, obviously larger floral designs such as chandeliers and arches.
