Mayday Flower Bouquet Workshop | 1st May 2025
Babylon is positioned at the foot of the Chilterns near the market town of Watlington. Set within the grounds of a 30 year old established 7 acre specialist plant nursery our flower beds are full of some of the more unusual perennials as well as our favourite annuals. Wrapped around the perimeter of the nursery a wild flower meadow provides us with year long foliage for our designs and bouquets and lots of wild flowers and grasses in the Summer months .
Juliet has 15 years experience in both growing flowers and floristry. The flower beds have evolved over the years as her floristry needs increase and change and carry on evolving from year to year. Come and join us for the morning and experience the wild beauty here at Babylon for yourself.
At a glance
We will start the day with tea and coffee and homemade treats from Crumb Coffee before a mindful wander around the meadow and beds here, showing you what is growing and answering any questions on how to grow for cutting in you own garden, as well as what you can use from your garden.
We will pick as we go, choosing a selection of Babylon grown flowers, foliage and ‘other bits’ think Catkins, Teasels, Cornus. Gathering an armful of Spring goodness to crate a bouquet.
We will then retreat to the Babylon floristry studio where you will learn how to condition and sustainably prep your flowers for use. We will talk about shape and colour theory and how to bring in elements from your own garden that you may have not considered before. We will guide you on how to create a wildly beautiful arrangement in our signature style. You will be able to wrap your bouquet to take home with you.
After the workshop you will have the opportunity to visit our trade nursery if you wish.
